Everton striker Louis Saha has been ruled out for up to five weeks, after a second scan on his hamstring injury today.
Saha has been sidelined since suffering the injury in Everton's 1-0 win at Tottenham Hotspur at the end of November, and Toffees manager David Moyes confirmed that the 30-year-old, who joined from Manchester United in close-season, will not return to action until February.
"Louis has been rescanned and he will be out for another four to five weeks," Moyes told Everton's official website.
Saha's prolonged absence is a major blow to Moyes, who is already without injured forwards Ayegbeni Yakubu, James Vaughan and Victor Anichebe.
Moyes has been forced to play with Australia midfielder Tim Cahill as a makeshift forward in recent weeks, and Saha's injury problems are likely to force him into the January transfer market.
