New A-League club Gold Coast United have confirmed the signing of six more players to add to their growing roster for their competition debut. Club chairman Clive Palmer said Gold Coast had signed Newcastle Jets defender Daniel Piorkowski and Adelaide United stopper Kristian Rees to two-year deals.

Central Coast Mariners midfielder Matt Osman has also agreed a two-year contract, along with former New Zealand Knights midfielders Zenon Caravella and Steve Fitzsimmons. Former Young Socceroo midfielder Steve Pantelidis will also join the club from Melbourne Victory. Gold Coast United have already contracted goalkeeper Jess Vanstrattan, defender Adam Griffiths and New Zealand international striker Shane Smeltz.

Gold Coast United and North Queensland Fury will fill the two spots created by an expansion in the A-League from eight teams to ten for the 2009/10 season.
