England lose Hart to injury

Goalkeeper Joe Hart will miss England's friendly with Germany, after being ruled out for a month with an ankle injury suffered in Manchester City's 2-2 draw at Hull City.

Hart limped off after falling awkwardly when Daniel Cousin gave Hull the lead in the first half at the KC Stadium, and City manager Mark Hughes confirmed he has no chance of recovering in time for the international in Berlin on Wednesday.

"He'll have to be seen by our medical people when he gets back, but he's likely to be out for a minimum of three to four weeks," Hughes said.

"He's obviously out of the England squad, which is a blow to him, but most importantly it's a blow to us because we have some key games coming up.

"He's gone over on his ankle initially trying to stop the goal, and the lad (Cousin) has actually fallen on his leg as he went over on his ankle."
