Rangers striker Kris Boyd continued to be a heart-breaker for Hamilton Academicals by scoring in a 2-0 win on Tuesday which took the Glasgow giants into the semi-finals of the Scottish League Cup.

Boyd, who netted twice in the Scottish Premier League against the Accies last weekend, opened the scoring at Ibrox before Kyle Lafferty made sure of victory with a second after half-time.

In the day's other quarter-final ties there were 1-0 wins for Dundee United over Dunfermline and Falkirk against Inverness.

Kilmarnock and Celtic round off the last eight when they meet at Rugby Park on Wednesday.
