Giovinco extends Juve contract

Striker Sebastian Giovinco has extended his contract with Juventus through until 2013, the Italian giants announced Friday.

Giovinco, 21, was loaned out last season to Empoli, where he scored six goals in 35 matches. This season, he has played in four matches for Juve, two in Serie A and two in the UEFA Champions League.

His star turn for the Italian Olympic side this summer at the Men's Olympic Footbal Tournament Beijing 2008 turned many heads. The dimunitive creator scored one goal and was considered to be the driving force behind Italy's charge to the knockout stages.
