Middlesbrough forward Tuncay Sanli is set to miss six weeks of the Premier League action, after sustaining a knee injury while on international duty last week.
The 26-year-old suffered a ligament tear during Turkey's 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™ qualifier against Belgium, and is now expected to be sidelined until the next month.
But Boro boss Gareth Southgate is confident his side have enough depth up front to cope without the former Fenerbahce player.
"It is a real shame for Tuncay," he told the club's official website. "However, we have a lot of strength in that area and his absence will provide opportunities for other lads in the squad."
Egyptian Mido partnered record signing Afonso Alves in attack - and scored his fourth goal of the season - in Saturday's 2-1 Premier League defeat at Portsmouth.
