A Karim Benzema penalty four minutes into injury time earned Lyon, two goals down after 20 minutes against Nice, a 3-2 home victory and sent them top of Ligue 1, at least temporarily.
Loic Remy and Habib Bamogo had put Nice two goals ahead, but goals from Juninho Pernambucano on 41 and 75 minutes brought the reigning seven-times champions level, before Benzema's late strike.
Marseille would have gone above Lyon had they won yesterday's later game, but they drew 1-1 at Bordeaux. Bakary Kone opened the scoring for the visitors, before Marouane Chamakh equalised on 25 minutes.
Monaco beat Lorient 2-0 at home, a result indebted to the performance of Korea Republic's Park Chu-Young, who scored one and set up the other at the Louis II stadium.
Park was one of Monaco's three signings right at the end of the transfer window. He joined from FC Seoul.
Monaco also signed Switzerland international and former Lyon defender Patrick Muller on a two-year deal, and Nigerian defensive midfielder Sani Kaita from Sparta Rotterdam for three seasons.
