Liverpool sell Finnan, loan Voronin

Liverpool have sold Republic of Ireland right-back Steve Finnan to Espanyol, and loaned Ukraine forward Andriy Voronin to Hertha Berlin.

Finnan, 32, lost his place in Rafa Benitez's team this season, after the pre-season signings of Andrea Dossena and Philipp Degen.

The former Fulham player joined Espanyol for an undisclosed fee, on a two-year contract, and is expected to make his debut against Getafe on 21 September.

Voronin will spend a year with Bundesliga outfit Hertha after failing to establish himself at Anfield.

"Andriy Voronin has today agreed a one-year loan deal with German side Hertha Berlin," a statement on Liverpool's official website confirmed.
