Scotland forward Shaun Maloney rejoined Celtic in a £2.5-million transfer from Aston Villa today.
Maloney agreed a four-year contract with the Scottish Premier League giants just 18 months after leaving Parkhead to play in the English Premier League.
A statement on Celtic's official website confirmed the deal: "Shaun Maloney is back with the champions. The 25-year-old has rejoined Celtic on a four-year-contract from Aston Villa and is delighted to be back at the club where he first started his career."
Maloney, who scored 37 goals in 138 appearances in his previous spell at Celtic, failed to settle at Villa under his former Bhoys manager Martin O'Neill.
Celtic's Paul Hartley believes Maloney will quickly adapt to Scottish football again. "It's a good move for him and a good move for the club," he said. "We are always looking to improve and he is another good player."
