Defender Choi Sung-Kuk scored one and assisted for another to lead a K-League selection to a 3-1 victory over a J-League team in the All-Stars game on Saturday.
The Japanese side controlled the first half but it was the visitors who opened the scoring in the 37th minute when Brazilian forward Dudu hit a free kick from the right. Goalkeeper Seigo Narazaki saved it but Choi quickly collected the rebound to put the Koreans ahead.
The J-League team had a chance to make it even when midfielder Koji Yamase was brought down in the area only 20 seconds into the second half, but his spot kick was saved by Lee Woon-Jae.
In the 57th minute, Dzenan Radoncic of Montenegro was brought down in the other box and second half Brazilian substitute Edu duly scored to make it 2-0 to the visitors.
Three minutes later, the Korean side embarked on a swift counter-attack with Choi receiving the ball and sending a cross from the right for Edu's second goal of the day.
The J-League side managed to pull a goal back when Brazilian-born Japan international defender Marcus Tulio Tanaka scored in the 67th minute.
Choi received the most valuable player award of one million yen (9,300 dollars) and a Mercedes-Benz V350.
