Cypriot champions Anorthosis Famagusta have secured a transfer coup signing Greek international defender Traianos Dellas.
Anorthosis described the imposing Greek defender as one of their "biggest ever" signings.
The 32-year-old centre-half was recently released by his club AEK Athens paving the way for him to agree personal terms with Anorthosis managed by ex-Newcastle and AEK player Temuri Ketsbaia.
The club is hoping to clear his registration in time for him to play against SK Rapid Vienna in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League next week.
Dellas, a UEFA EURO2004 winner, became a Greek football folklore hero after scoring the goal against the Czech Republic that put Greece into the final against Portugal. He was also part of the Greek side that failed miserably to defend their crown at EURO 2008.
Dellas has also plied his trade for Perugia, Roma, Sheffield United and Aris Thessaloniki.
