Liverpool confirmed on Wednesday that French midfielder Anthony Le Tallec had agreed terms for a transfer to Le Mans.
The 23-year-old spent last season on loan at the French first division club following previous loan spells with Le Havre, St Etienne, Sunderland and Sochaux.
He was taken to Anfield in 2003, when Gerard Houllier brought him in alongside Florent Sinama-Pongolle, his team-mate in France's FIFA U-17 World Cup-winning side.
However, his appearances for the first team on Merseyside were limited and he only scored one goal for the Reds.
Le Tallec has signed a four-year deal with Le Mans, with terms of the transfer undisclosed, and said: "I need stability, a sporting plan, and Le Mans give me this chance."
