Roma and Liverpool have reached agreement over the transfer of John Arne Riise, and it will be only a matter of days before the Norwegian is officially unveiled by the Giallorossi. The capital club told La Gazzetta dello Sport that the 2004/05 UEFA Champions League winners had given them clearance to discuss terms with Riise's agent.
"AS Roma would like to announce that it has been given permission by the English club to negotiate with the player's agent the contract and conditions needed before reaching a price between the two clubs."
Riise was expected to sign a four-year deal worth 1.7 million euros with the Rome giants, who reached the quarter-finals of the Champions League last season. However, Brazilian ace Mancini looks likely to leave Roma for Inter Milan, although the clubs have yet to agree on a transfer fee.
