Former Brazil coach Sebastiao Lazaroni is to quit Portuguese first division club Maritimo, based on Madeira.
"The proposal the president made to me doesn't suit me so I'll leave the club," said Lazaroni, whose contract with the island side had come to an end.
"I will return to Brazil and wait. But it's true that I enjoyed my experience in Portugal and that I would have liked to have stayed. We'll see," he said, adding that he was happy with Maritimo's fifth-placed finish in the league.
Lazaroni, 57, was coach of Brazil in 1989-90 and Jamaica in 2004, and has coached numerous clubs in Turkey, Japan, Italy, Saudi Arabia, Mexico, China and Kuwait.
