Australia's football coach Pim Verbeek has named three uncapped players to the Socceroos 24-man squad to play Ghana in a friendly in Sydney on 23 May.
Gaining their first national call-up are Reading's Adam Federici and defenders Rodrigo Vargas, who plays for Melbourne Victory, and Matthew Spiranovic, who is with FC Nuremburg.
The squad will be missing regular captain Lucas Neill who is being rested, but Harry Kewell and goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer are expected to take the field.
Verbeek defended the squad for the Ghana game which will lead into Australia's four FIFA World Cup qualification matches in June.
"We have always said that during the campaign to qualify for the World Cup we would need a large list of players," he said. "This match will continue to build our depth and give us a chance to test some players out at the top level."
