Liverpool midfielder Javier Mascherano has been charged with improper conduct following his reaction to being sent off against Manchester United on Sunday, the Football Association has announced.
He has until 18:00GMT on Thursday to respond. The case will be heard by a Regulatory Commission on Friday 4 April.
Mascherano is currently serving a one-match suspension for the sending-off.
But this could be extended to three games because of the time the Argentina international took to leave the field after being sent off by referee Steve Bennett for showing dissent at Old Trafford in a match that Liverpool lost 3-0.
