Asian club champions Urawa Red Diamonds have fired their German coach Holger Osieck following the team's poor start to the J-League season, news reports said on Sunday.
Urawa, who failed to defend the league title and the Emperors
Cup last season, crashed to a 1-0 defeat to Yokohama Marinos in the
season opener and lost 2-0 to Nagoya Grampus on Saturday.
Osieck led Urawa to third place at last year's FIFA Club World Cup.
Assistant coach and fellow German Gert Engels is expected to take over from Osieck, local papers said.
