Buffon extends Juve contract

Italy goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon on Wednesday extended his Juventus contract until 2013, the club said.

The new deal will take him up until he reaches 35 and is likely to mean he will finish his career at the club he joined from Parma in 2001 for a world record fee for a goalkeeper of 52 million euros.

"I'll play at Juventus until I'm 35 years old," said Buffon. "I want to thank the club and its fans for holding me in such high esteen and affection."
