Rene Higuita, the eccentric former Colombian international goalkeeper, is making a comeback at the age of 41 with Deportivo Rionegro, who play in the country's second division, the club said Thursday.

Higuita, who has signed a one-year deal, said he wanted to pass on his experience to the younger players and help the team reach the top flight.

During his 23 year as a professional, Higuita even scored 41 goals and was celebrated in 1995 for his "scorpion kick" which he displayed in the friendly against England at Wembley in 1995.
