Branko Ivankovic quit as coach of Dynamo Zagreb after being insulted by a club official following defeat at the national indoor championship.
"I resign since the club is unsatisfied with the result at Croatia's indoor championship," Ivankovic told journalists. "I am not a person who could change his mind and withdraw such a decision," the 53-year-old emphasized.
After the club on Sunday lost the championship semi-finals, its executive vice-president Zdravko Mamic insulted Ivanovkovic in front of journalists.
Ivankovic took over as Dynamo Zagreb coach in November 2006 and completed a Croatian league and cup double in 2006/2007. He was previously coaching Iran since 2003.
After 19 matches this season, Dynamo Zagreb are in top spot with 12 points ahead of second-placed Rijeka.
