Changchun Yatai won China's 2007 Super League title Wednesday night dispatching Shenzhen Shangqingyin 4-1 to take the domestic league crown in the last match of the season.
Honduran striker Elvis Scott notched two goals as Changchun went up 4-1 in the first half and held on to win the game played in the southern Chinese city of Shenzhen.
Going into Wednesday night's match, Changchun led second place Beijing Guoan by only one point in the league standings and needed the win to take home its first Super League Crown.
Scott first hit home in the second minute weaving his way through Shenzhen defenders into the penalty area before firing into the corner of the net.
Shenzhen leveled the score when an unmarked Ke Mate fired a volley past Changchun keeper Zong Lei in the 25th minute, but the goal only seemed to inspire the Changchun side.
From then Yatai picked up the attack with striker Wang Wanpeng knocking in a rebound off a corner kick in the 28th minute giving his team a 2-1 lead.
Changchun finished out the first half with Scott notching his second goal in the 41st minute before Ai Erwei slotted a fine effort off a beautiful cross by national side striker Du Zhenyu in injury time.
Meanwhile in Beijing a muted crowd, aware of Changchun's score, watched Guoan win its match against Shandong Luneng 1-0 on a 30th-minute penalty goal by Brazilian striker Tiago Jorge Honorio.
Beijing's second-place finish was the best Guoan has mustered in the 12-year-old domestic league, but many fans were left disappointed with their team's failure to win the league title.
