Former Algeria coach Rabah Saadane is to return to the national team hot-seat, the Algerian Football Federation announced on Wednesday.

Saadane remplaces Frenchman Jean Michel Cavali, who was sacked after Algeria failed to qualify for the CAF Africa Cup of Nations Ghana 2008.

Saadane, 61, returns for the fifth time as coach of the national team after earlier stints between 1981 and 2004.

He wil be tasked with qualifying Algeria for the Africa Cup of Nations in 2010 and the FIFA World Cup™ in South Africa later that year.
