England U-21 defender Nedum Onuoha on Monday signed a new four-year deal with Manchester City.
The 20-year-old committed after impressing for England at the UEFA European U-21 Championships in the Netherlands recently.
"I'm delighted that the contract is all sorted out. I just want to get back to working hard and playing well when pre-season training starts again next week," he told the club's website.
City chief executive Alistair Mackintosh said he was delighted at persuading Onuoha to commit to the club until 2011.
"We opened talks with Nedum a couple of months ago and then had to wait until the tournament was over before the deal could be concluded," said Mackintosh.
"Nedum's contract extension re-affirms our commitment to having a squad with the very best young, home-grown, talent and securing their long-term futures at the football club."
