Rio Ave end cup final drought

Rio Ave made their first Taca da Liga final in 30 years as they beat Braga 2-1 in Thursday's semi-final.

The Vilacondenses have made one appearance before - a 1984 loss to Porto - and reaching the showpiece represents a real achievement for the club who hail from the small town of Vila do Conde, which has a population of just under 80,000.

They were helped by Braga having Aderland Santos sent off with 39 minutes gone and took the lead with 41 on the clock thanks to Ahmed Koka's penalty.

Custodio equalised on the stroke of half-time but the aptly-named Bruno Braga won it with 21 minutes left.
