Adriano extends Barcelona stay

Barcelona have announced that defender Adriano has signed a new four-year contract.

The versatile Brazilian - whose new buy-out clause is €90 million - joined the Primera Division champions in 2010 and has made 105 appearances, scoring 10 goals, in his three seasons at the Nou Camp.

Adriano joined for an estimated €9.5 million from Sevilla but has struggled to hold down a regular spot in the starting XI under both Tito Vilanova and his predecessor Pep Guardiola, thanks to the form of Eric Abidal and then Jordi Alba.

The 28-year-old has earned 17 caps for his country and has already won two Primera Division titles, the UEFA Champions League and the Copa del Rey during his time in Catalonia.
