Newell's held, Boca grab second win

A late equaliser from Miguel Caneo earned Quilmes a 1-1 draw against Argentinian Clausura leaders Newell's Old Boys on Saturday night. Ignacio Scocco's ninth-minute strike had put the visitors ahead but Caneo notched three minutes from time to hand sixth-placed Quilmes a share of the spoils.

Godoy Cruz climbed to fourth position with a 3-1 victory over second-bottom Velez Sarsfield. Three goals in 15 minutes at the start of the second half - from Jose Luis Fernandez, Gonzalo Castellani and Nicolas Castro - put the hosts in control before Facundo Ferreyra notched a late consolation for the visitors.

Juan Manuel Martinez grabbed the game's only goal four minutes into the second half as Boca Juniors claimed just their second win of the season. They prevailed 1-0 against Colon Santa Fe, whose cause was not helped by the 74th-minute dismissal of Bruno Urribarri.

Finally, Estudiantes posted only their third win of the campaign with a 2-0 triumph at seventh-placed Atletico Rafaela, Duvan Zapata opening the scoring in the seventh minute and Roman Martinez sealing matters at the death.
