Auckland City have continued their domination in Oceania with a 2-1 win in the OFC Champions League final over local rivals Waitakere United to be crowned for the third successive year.

Goals from Adam Dickinson and Alex Feneridis within the space of three first-half minutes set the holders on their way to victory in Auckland.

However Waitakere pulled a goal back via the boot of Chad Coombes just before the interval, only for their task to be made harder with Tim Myers dismissed for a second caution on the hour mark.

The continental decider - the first to feature teams from the same nation - allowed Auckland City to gain a level of revenge having finished second behind their cross-city rivals in the recently completed New Zealand national league season.

The win ensures Auckland City will appear at the FIFA Club World Cup Morocco 2013, having featured at the previous two editions in Japan.
