Ignacio Scocco scored twice as Newell's Old Boys went top of the Argentinian Clausura table with a 3-1 win over Godoy Cruz. Scocco scored his first to draw Newell's level in the 28th minute, four minutes after Mauro Obolo had put Godoy Cruz in the lead.
An own goal from Nicolas Sanchez in the 67th minute put Newell's in the lead, and Scocco grabbed his second from the spot four minutes later. The win took Newell's two points clear of Lanus ahead of their game against Independiente.
San Lorenzo eased to a 3-0 victory over struggling Boca Juniors. Gonzalo Veron netted the first in the 18th minute, and Julio Buffarini doubled the lead with a 40th-minute penalty before Angel Correa rounded off the scoring nine minutes into the second period.
Arsenal Sarandi scored twice in the last ten minutes to claim a 2-2 draw at Velez Sarsfield. The hosts took a two-goal lead through Ezequiel Rescaldani (18) and Lucas Romero (66), before Dario Benedetto (81) and Nicolas Aguirre (90) rescued a point for Arsenal.
Goals from Bruno Zuculini in the third minute and Luis Farina in the 90th gave Racing Club a 2-0 win over Tigre.
