In-form Wellington Phoenix striker Jeremy Brockie will join Toronto FC on a three-month loan deal.

The second-highest goalscorer in the recently completed A-League season will link up former New Zealand team-mate Ryan Nelsen, with the long-serving All Whites skipper in his first season as coach of the Canadian MLS club.

“Both Clubs have also agreed to work closely together on football issues following on from this deal so it’s a great association to have,” said Phoenix General Manager David Dome.

Brockie was a constant figure in New Zealand’s 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil™ qualifiers with the Kiwis winning the Oceania zone in March.

New Zealand’s prize for achieving continental success is a two-legged play-off against the fourth-placed CONCACAF nation in November, where Ricki Herbert's men will be hunting successive FIFA World Cup appearances for the first time.

Brockie will return to the Phoenix in August.
