Borussia Dortmund left-back Marcel Schmelzer is a doubt for his side's UEFA Champions League quarter-final, first leg against Malaga after suffering a fractured nose at Stuttgart on Saturday. Schmelzer was injured after being hit in the face by Martin Harnik in the early stages of a match that Dortmund went on to win 2-1.
"The fracture is unique. His nose is all over the place," said Dortmund coach Juergen Klopp. "Marcel has been taken to hospital. I can't say if he will play on Wednesday or not."
Losing the German international would be a big blow to Klopp, who is already without central defender Mats Hummels for the game in Spain due to an ankle injury, while Poland winger Jakub Blaszczykowski is doubtful with an adductor injury.
