Mons produced a dominant performance to inflict a 4-2 home defeat on Zulte-Waregem in the Jupiler League. Aloys Nong scored twice, book-ended by goals from Pieter-Jan Monteyne and Tim Matthys, as the visitors stormed into a 4-0 lead with 15 minutes remaining.
Zulte, who did not include new loan signing Thorgan Hazard, responded with a penalty from M'Baye Leye and a late second goal from Hernan Hinostroza, but the game was already well and truly over as a contest.
Gent missed the chance to go level on points with leaders Club Brugge, who play Standard Liege tomorrow, as they were held 1-1 at Charleroi. They led through Ibrahima Conte's goal early in the second half but Mijusko Bojovic levelled in the 78th minute before Gent had Hannes Vanderbruggen sent off late on.
Waasland-Beveren recorded their first win of the season against woeful Cercle Brugge, who remain bottom with a solitary point and had a man sent off for the second successive week. Barak Badash made the 70th-minute breakthrough for Waasland and, after Gregory Mertens was dismissed, substitute Benoit Ladriere made it 2-0.
Beerschot were also 2-0 winners away to KV Mechelen thanks to Funso Ojo's 16th-minute strike and Hernan Losada's late second.
Leuven added to their improbable haul of draws thanks to a last-minute goal at Lierse. Kostadin Khazurov scored in first-half stoppage time for the hosts but interval substitute Christian Pouga did likewise in the second period as the visitors finished all square for the fourth time in their six games to date.
