AC Milan have confirmed the signing of Manchester City midfielder Nigel de Jong on a three-year deal.
The 27-year-old, who joined the Premier League champions from Hamburg in 2009, underwent a medical this morning before completing the move to the San Siro.
A short statement on acmilan.com read: "AC Milan announces that it has bought outright Manchester City's Nigel de Jong, who has signed a contract until 30 June 2015."
De Jong, who has been given the No34 shirt, goes straight into the squad for tomorrow's Serie A match at Bologna.
The Holland international made 137 appearances for City during his three-and-a-half years with the club.
De Jong was delighted with his move. "For me, Milan has always been a really big club, the most decorated in the world. Dutch players have always have a big impact here and I'll be giving 100 percent for this team," he said on www.acmilan.it.
The midfielder also had a message for his former club Manchester City, saying on Twitter: "Thanks to MCFC for giving me the opportunity to be part of their history. All the best to my former teammates and all the people. Special mention to the fans for their love, respect and dedication they always showed. You will never be forgotten."
