The mid-year transfer window reached its climax on Friday with clubs across the globe working frantically to acquire and offload players before the opportunity passed.
FIFA.com was there to bring you extensive coverage of all the transfers as soon as they were confirmed. The live commentary began at 09.30 BST and ended at 00.30 BST on Saturday morning, as last-minute deals were still confirmed.

23.43 BST - English champions Manchester City left it late to capture Spanish midfielder Javi Garcia from Benfica for £16million. The 25-year-old will wear the No14 shirt for his new club.
23.27 BST - Stoke City have signed another midfielder, completing a move for Steven Nzonzi, who joins from Championship side Blackburn Rovers.
23.25 BST - Malaga have finalised their last signing of the window, bringing in USA defender Oguchi Onyewu.
23.24 BST - Fulham sealed a move for Iran international Ashkan Dejagah, who joins the London side from Wolfsburg on a three-year deal. The midfielder said: "After I had spoken to the manager and heard about the project here, I was convinced. So I am happy to be here and will give my best for the club and our fans."
23.13 BST - Manchester City have allowed defender Dedryck Boyata to join Dutch side FC Twente on loan for the season.
23.06 BST - Chelsea have revealed that Ghana midfielder Michael Essien has joined Spanish giants Real Madrid on loan for the season. The 29-year-old will link up again with coach Jose Mourinho, who brought Essien to Stamford Bridge in 2005.

22.54 BST - One player who remains available on a free transfer, and will do beyond the closing of the transfer window, is Michael Owen. The former Liverpool, Real Madrid and Manchester United striker tweeted: "Nothing to confirm just yet, will be an interesting few days now that the transfer window is closed."
22.51 BST - Midfielder Joey Barton has been loaned by Queens Park Rangers to French side Marseille for the season. The London outfit have replaced the outgoing Barton with the permanent signing of Cameroon international Stephane Mbia, who moves in the opposite direction.
22.42 BST - USA defender Carlos Bocanegra has been loaned from Rangers to Spanish side Racing Santander for the season.
22.22 BST - West Ham United have signed former midfielder Yossi Benayoun on loan from Premier League rivals Chelsea for the rest of the campaign.
22.16 BST - Belgian striker Christian Benteke has switched to Premier League side Aston Villa from Genk. "Villa are a very historic club and my colleagues on international duty have said good things about English football," said the youngster.
22.14 BST - Celtic have secured a season-long loan deal for Getafe striker Nicolas Fedor, the Spanish side confirmed.
22.06 BST - Spurs have also completed the capture of USA forward Clint Dempsey from Fulham.
22.05 BST - French side Lyon have revealed that goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has signed a four-year deal with Premier League outfit Tottenham Hotspur for an initial fee of £8million. "They have a great team, great players, and a great coach," said Lloris.
21.49 BST - Macedonia international Goran Popov has moved to West Bromwich Albion on a season-long loan from Dynamo Kyiv.
21.45 BST - David Moyes has completed another deal for Everton, bringing in Matthew Kennedy from Scottish outfit Kilmarnock on a three-year contract.
21.40 BST - Serb defender Matija Nastasic has joined Premier League champions Manchester City for an undisclosed fee from Fiorentina. Stefan Savic has moved to the Italian team as part of the deal.
21.36 BST - Aston Villa have signed 22-year-old midfielder Ashley Westwood from Crewe Alexandra on a four-year deal. The youngster said: "This is a fantastic football club, a massive club and I can’t wait to get started really."
21.32 BST - Southampton have handed a two-year contract to USA goalkeeper Cody Cropper after the 19-year-old impressed during an extended trial with the Premier League club.

20.05 BST - Everton have sealed the signing of Bryan Oviedo on a four-year deal for an undisclosed fee from FC Copenhagen. The Costa Rica international said: "I know a lot about Everton. I watch Everton games and Premier League games on the TV and it is a very good league."
19.39 BST - Veteran striker Luca Toni has sealed an emotional return to Serie A side Fiorentina, signing a one-year contract with his former club.
19.35 BST - La Liga outfit Malaga have concluded a deal for Paraguay striker Roque Santa Cruz.
19.05 BST - Scottish side Celtic have brought in Nigeria international Efe Ambrose on a three-year deal. The 23-year-old said: "Today is one of the happiest days of my life, signing for one of the biggest clubs in the world - a club I have known about since I was young."
18.53 BST - Bologna and Southampton have confirmed the sale of midfielder Gaston Ramirez, who impressed at the Olympics with Uruguay, to the Premier League side. Saints manager Nigel Adkins said: "There is a lot of ambition at the football club and we are all delighted that Gaston is going to come and join us."
18.43 BST - FIFA World Cup winner Alberto Gilardino has joined Bologna from Genoa for an undisclosed fee. Genoa have signed Marco Borriello as a replacement.
18.30 BST - Ajax and Netherlands full-back Gregory van der Wiel is close to joining Paris Saint-Germain according to his agent. Mino Raiola said: "The clubs have reached an agreement. We will try to complete the transfer. It is 80 per cent done but there are some important details to finish. We are still talking about the duration of his contract."
18.11 BST - USA international Maurice Edu has completed his switch to Stoke City. The midfielder tweeted: "Excited & looking forward to this next chapter in my career. Thanks for all your well wishes & support!"
18.10 BST - Chelsea have loaned young talent Gael Kakuta to Eredivisie side Vitesse Arnhem for the season.
18.04 BST - After leaving Hoffenheim, Dutch forward Ryan Babel is set to join former club Ajax. The 25-year-old will sign a one-year deal following a medical in the coming days.
17.22 BST - Nicklas Bendtner has left Arsenal to join Serie A champions Juventus on loan for the season. "I want to fulfil my potential here and show the fans my absolute best as that is yet to come. I am sure I will," said the Denmark striker on Twitter.
17.13 BST - Costa Rica international Bryan Oviedo is at Goodison Park to complete his move from FC Copenhagen to Everton.
17.08 BST - Swansea City manager Michael Laudrup has secured the signature of winger Pablo Hernandez from Valencia for £5.55million. The 27-year-old, who previously played under the Dane at Getafe, has agreed a three-year deal to join the Welsh club and said: "There were offers from other clubs, but this was the only club I wanted to join. I want to thank the club and Michael Laudrup for making me feel like a very important player. Now I want to repay that faith on the football field."

16.44 BST - "I'm delighted to have signed for Fulham and I look forward to playing under Martin Jol once again," said Dimitar Berbatov after agreeing a two-year contract at Craven Cottage. "As soon as I was aware of Fulham's interest my decision to join was an easy one to make."
16.30 BST - Chelsea have loaned Thorgan Hazard, brother of Blues playmaker Eden, to Belgian outfit Zulte Waregem for the season.
16.00 BST - Queens Park Rangers have been extremely busy during the transfer window and have now lined up a potential move for Stephane Mbia of Marseille. Manager Mark Hughes revealed: "A lot of contract discussions have already taken place and that's pretty much been concluded. Once we get through the medical that's a deal that could be concluded very quickly. He's a player who can player in a number of positions and I like that flexibility. He's a good age and it's a good price."
15.50 BST - Brazilian defender Maicon has also joined the Premier League champions, leaving Italian side Inter Milan for an undisclosed fee. Maicon was a key figure in Inter's treble-winning team of 2010 and has appeared 66 times for his country.
15.30 BST - Manchester City have confirmed the capture of former England international goalkeeper Richard Wright on a free transfer.
15.23 BST - Fulham have completed the signing of Dimitar Berbatov from Manchester United.
15.22 BST - Nigel de Jong has paid tribute to Manchester City and the club’s fans after leaving to join AC Milan. The midfielder tweeted: "Thanks to MCFC for giving me the opportunity to be part of their history four years ago. All the best to my former team-mates and all the people. Special mention to the fans for their love, respect and dedication they always showed. You will never be forgotten. All the best."
15.07 BST - Premier League newcomers Southampton are close to a deal for Uruguay midfielder Gaston Ramirez. "We are very, very close. All being well, he will become our player," says manager Nigel Adkins.
14.48 BST - Hamburg have confirmed the signing of Netherlands international Rafael van der Vaart. "I am delighted that Rafael van der Vaart will be playing for Hamburg again. He will be a strong addition to our team," said coach Thorsten Fink.
13.51 BST - Real Mallorca have confirmed that they have signed Giovani Dos Santos on a four-year deal.
13.32 BST - Inter Milan have confirmed that Maicon has signed for Manchester City. Meanwhile, Celta Vigo have announced that Park Chuyoung has joined from Arsenal on loan.
13.05 BST - Sunderland have completed the signing of Tottenham Hotspur left-back Danny Rose on a season-long loan deal.
12.47 BST - Stoke City have announced the signing of Liverpool midfielder Charlie Adam on a four-year deal. "I'm delighted to be here and to be given the opportunity to work with the Club, the manager and the players," said Adam. "This Club's on the up and it's great to be a part of it. I hope I can help them to improve upon the success which has been achieved over the past few years.

11.37 BST - Fulham have signed Kieran Richardson from Sunderland on a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee. “I’m delighted," he said. "I’m eager to pull on the white shirt for the first time.”
11.07 BST - Stoke City have agreed a fee with Liverpool for Charlie Adam.
10.58 BST - Manchester City's Nigel De Jong has completed his move to AC Milan. "Nigel De Jong, much to the satisfaction of the Milan faithful, is now one of our players," is proudly displayed on the Italian club's official website.
10.53 BST - Sydney FC have sensationally announced that Alessandro Del Piero has agreed to join the club. “This is huge for Sydney FC, huge for the A-League and huge for Australian football,” the club's chairman Scott Barlow said. “We feel honoured that Alessandro has decided to play for Sydney FC and we share his excitement that a move to Sydney FC will create a lasting legacy for football in this country."
10.34 BST - Liverpool have confirmed that midfielder Jay Spearing has joined Bolton Wanderers on loan until the end of the season. Meanwhile, Nicklas Bendtner has arrived at Turin's Clinica Fornaca for his Juventus medical.
10.31 BST - Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has admitted that he wants to sign three players before the deadline. "We have another 10-12 hours to close these players," he said. "We are very close and we are getting closer at the moment and we need more time but I am confident."
10.20 BST - Tottenham Hotspur have agreed to loan Danny Rose to Sunderland for the remainder of the season.
10.18 BST - Schalke have signed Dutch winger Ibrahim Afellay on a one-year-loan from Barcelona. Meanwhile, Everton have confirmed they have agreed a fee with FC Copenhagen for Bryan Oviedo. The Costa Rica international is now en route to Merseyside to undergo a medical.
10.06 BST - Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Rafael van der Vaart is on his way to Hamburg for a medical, the player's agent Robert Geerlings has confirmed.
10.03 BST - Stoke City have confirmed that midfielder Charlie Adam is set to undergo a medical with them today with a view to a permanent move from Liverpool.

09.30 BST - The biggest news overnight is that West Ham United signed Andy Carroll on loan. The Hammers manager Sam Allardyce said: "Andy was pleased to choose us ahead of a number of other clubs and I'm glad to say we've got a top quality player for West Ham. I first tried a long time ago and it didn't look like happening but I'm glad it has."
QPR have signed Esteban Granero from Real Madrid, while Southampton have signed Japan defender Maya Yoshida who starred at the Olympics. There have also been big deals done in Germany with Javi Martinez's €40m move from Athletic Bilbao to Bayern Munich as well as the capture of Dutch strikers Luuk de Jong (€15m, Twente to Borussia Monchengladbach) and Bas Dost (€6.5m, Heerenveen to Wolfsburg).
