Two-time A-League champions Melbourne Victory have boosted their midfield by signing attack-minded Brazilian Guilherme Finkler and Jonathan Bru of Mauritius, the club said on Friday.
Both were signed to two-year deals with Finkler joining from Brazilian second division outfit Criciuma and defensive midfielder Bru leaving Moreirense FC in Portugal's second tier.
"Brazilian players have certain qualities that not many other players possess, so I'm confident he can bring a different type of flair to the group, but more importantly, he comes with a determination and ambition to be part of a successful team," Victory's new coach Ange Postecoglou said.
Finkler, 26, has spent the majority of his professional career in Brazil, but also had a season with English Championship side Wolverhampton Wanderers. Bru, 27, played youth football for France, where he was born, but never made the senior side. He has nine international caps for Mauritius.
"I made it a priority to secure an experienced, defence-minded midfielder and Jonathan looks to be the ideal fit for our squad, especially considering the array of attacking options we have," Postecoglou said.
