Nagoya Grampus have secured a berth in the AFC Champions League's last 16 by defeating Central Coast Mariners 3-0.
Japan international striker Keiji Tamada opened the scoring with a free-kick in the 19th minute, and midfielder Jungo Fujimoto made it 2-0 with a shot that floated over keeper Mathew Ryan in the 36th minute.
"That was a very important game and it was a very good victory," said Nagoya coach Dragan Stojkovic. "I think everybody here was satisfied with the victory."
"As you know the schedule is very tough, so I gave some rest to the players, but I think we produced a good performance.
"We had some chances to score more goals, but I think it was very important that we scored three goals to qualify for the next round, so congratulations to my players for the impressive performance and result."
