More misery for Jeonbuk, Tianjin deny Seongnam
Last season's beaten finalists Jeonbuk suffered their second defeat with a 5-1 rout at Kashiwa Reysol.
The Japanese side went in front five minutes before the interval through Daisuke Nasu, with Leandro Domingues then adding two goals in a minute on the stroke of half-time. Bowen Huang pulled one back for Jeonbuk after 51 minutes, but late strikes from Junya Tanaka and Akimi Barada put the result beyond doubt.
In Group G, A-League leaders Central Coast Mariners played out a 1-1 draw with Nagoya Grampus at Gosford.
Marcus Tanaka supplied the finishing touch to a free-kick to give the Japanese visitors a 22nd-minute lead. But the Mariners took just seven minutes to equalise through Patrick Zwaanswijk's header.
The match between Seongnam Chunma and Tianjin Taida also finished 1-1, with Lucian Goian cancelling out Han Sang-woon's 15th-minute opener for the South Korean hosts.
