Khan Research Laboratory (KRL) comfortable won the eight edition of the Pakistan Premier Football League cruising to the title with a 20-point margin over nearest challengers Afghan FC and Pakistan Army who finished equal on points.
The Rawalpindi-based club claimed their second title in three seasons topping the 16-team, 30-round season which concluded last Thursday.
Afghan FC captain and striker Jadeed Khan was the league’s top goalscorer with 22 strikes, while KRL’s Samar Ishaq was adjudged player of the season. The league’s best goalkeeper for the season was deemed to be Jaffer Khan of Pakistan Army.
The league title was KRL’s second of the season having also won the National Challenge Cup under respected national team coach Tariq Lutfi.
