Adelaide United have replaced Dutchman Rini Coolen with the club's inaugural coach, John Kosmina, in a bid to end their run of defeats in Australia's A-League.
Kosmina will take over immediately from Coolen after Adelaide slumped to a dispiriting 3-0 loss at home to bottom-team Gold Coast United on Friday.
Kosmina's appointment will be for the remainder of the A-League season and the club's 2012 AFC Champions League campaign. Adelaide are lying ninth in the competition with only two wins from 11 games.
"Clearly what happened on Friday night at Hindmarsh Stadium was not acceptable and basically we're here to make sure that we've got a strong and vibrant Adelaide United," club chairman Greg Griffin said.
Griffin said Coolen's contract has not been terminated and he will remain at the club to coach the Reds' youth team and look after the club's junior development programme.
