Brisbane Roar extended their 100 per cent record into a third game at the start of the new A-League season after beating Gold Coast United 3-0 today.
The defending champions overcame a tricky start at Suncorp Stadium to preserve their unbeaten run, which now stands at 31 matches.
Erik Paartalu put the hosts ahead with a 14th-minute header, but the match remained in the balance until substitute Massimo Murdocca played in Besart Berisha, and the Albania international rounded United goalkeeper Glen Moss before slotting into an empty net 16 minutes into the second half.
Gold Coast heads dropped and Roar added a third with 12 minutes to go when Mitch Nichols fired home. Gold Coast's record now stands at two draws and a defeat from their three games.
