Former England national team goalkeeper Chris Woods has been hired to become the goalkeeper coach of the USA national team.

For the past 13 years, Woods has been the goalkeeping coach for English Premier League club Everton. He has been given permission by manager David Moyes to take the American posting while continuing his coaching role with the Toffees.

Woods, 51, was recruited by new USA head coach Jurgen Klinsmann who talked to Everton before bringing in Woods.

Everton's goalkeeper is Tim Howard who is also a member of the American team. USA will play Ecuador in an international friendly on Tuesday in New Jersey.
