Real Salt Lake remain on course for a place in the MLS Cup play-offs following a 2-1 win over Philadelphia Union in Utah.
The 2009 MLS Cup winners moved up to fourth in the Western Conference with the win and have the best points total of any side outside the top three in each conference.
Kyle Beckerman put Salt Lake ahead in the 18th minute and the lead was doubled by Chris Schuler eight minutes later.
Sebastien Le Toux halved Real's advantage on the half-hour mark but the home side held on to claim the points. Union are fourth in the Eastern Conference, one point behind Houston Dynamo but with two games in hand.
