Blackburn bid for Hoffenheim's Ibisevic

Germany's Hoffenheim have confirmed that English Premier League side Blackburn Rovers have approached them to speak to striker Vedad Ibisevic in a bid to sign the Bosnia forward.

Hoffenheim manager Ernst Tanner confirmed to SID that the English club have been given permission to speak to the 27-year-old, who is expected to be out until the end of September with a torn thigh muscle.

The transfer window closes at midnight on Wednesday 31 August.

Ibisevic did not want to comment on Blackburn's interest, who are reported to be willing to pay around €6 million euros for the striker, who has scored 43 goals in 113 league games and is under contract until 2013.
