Greek Super League side Panathinaikos today announced the signing of Ghanaian international winger Quincy Owusu-Abeyie on a season-long loan from Qatar's Al-Sadd.
No financial details of the loan agreement were announced by Panathinaikos but Greek press reports said the player would receive some €350,000 for his services and Al-Sadd would get €500,000. The Athens giants also have an option to sign Owusu-Abeyie permanently next summer.
Owusu-Abeyie, 25, was born in the Netherlands but has played for the Ghana national team 15 times. At club level, he started out at Arsenal, before spells at Spartak Moscow, Celta Vigo, Birmingham City, Cardiff City and Portsmouth.
He then joined Al-Sadd in 2010, but spent last season on loan to Malaga in Spain.
