Nigerian striker Brown Ideye has joined Ukrainian side Dynamo Kiev from Sochaux, the French club announced yesterday. The fee for the deal is reported to be in the region of €9m ($12.9m).
Brown, 22, scored 15 goals in Ligue 1 for Sochaux last season, ending the campaign as their joint-top scorer alongside Modibo Maiga. He becomes the latest big name to leave Sochaux, who finished fifth in the French top flight last season to qualify for the UEFA Europa League.
However, since then they have lost coach Francis Gillot and winger Nicolas Maurice-Belay to Bordeaux, while speculation continues to surround the future of star playmaker Marvin Martin. Dynamo, who will enter the UEFA Champions League at the third qualifying stage, kick off their domestic season this weekend when they entertain Metalist Kharkiv.
