After a 0-0 draw with Guatemala on Monday, Honduras revived their CONCACAF Gold Cup campaign with an overwhelming 7-1 victory over Group B opponents Grenada in Miami.

Carlos Costly headlined Honduras's resurgence, scoring a hat-trick, while Jerry Bengston added a brace, and Walter Martinez and Alfredo Mejia completed the rout.

Grenada had surprisingly taken the lead first through Clive Murray in the 19th minute, but Honduras did not hold back for long. The Central Americans were ahead 3-1 by the 37th minute, with Costly scoring his first and Bengston netting a double in the span of just 11 minutes.

Honduras largely dominated possession, and added to their first-half lead in the 67th minute when Costly helped himself to a second. The striker needed only five minutes to complete his treble, knocking in a rebound off the right post.

Substitutes Martinez and Mejia added insult to injury, beating Grenada goalkeeper Shemel Louison to score Honduras's sixth and seventh goals of the match.

Honduras are set to face Jamaica in a Group B decider on Monday, while Grenada will meet Guatemala - each still vying for a victory.
