Six send Union top after Red Bulls draw

Philadelphia Union thrashed Toronto FC 6-2 to go top of the Major League Soccer Eastern Conference as New York Red Bulls could only draw 1-1 with the Vancouver Whitecaps.

Justin Mapp and Danny Mwanga scored two each and Gabriel Farfan and Kyle Nakazawa also found the net for the Union. The Toronto goals both came from Maicon Correa.

The Whitecaps went ahead through an Eric Hassli penalty before Luke Rodgers earned a point.

Single goal enough for Galaxy
Los Angeles Galaxy, top of the Western Conference, beat New England Revolution 1-0 with a goal from Miguel Lopez.

FC Dallas are second after being held to a 2-2 draw by Houston Dynamo. Andrew Jacobson gave Dallas the lead before Cameron Weaver equalised.

Ugo Ihemelu put Dallas back in front but Colin Clark restored parity with three minutes to go. Houston's Kofi Sarkodie had been sent off with 17 minutes to go.

Columbus Crew drew 3-3 with Chivas USA with goals from Andres Mendoza, twice, and Emmanuel Ekpo. The Chivas goals came from Nick LaBrocca, Andrew Boyens and Jorge Flores.

Real rocked by Sounders
Dominic Oduro and Cory Gibbs scored for Chicago Fire in their 2-2 draw against San Jose Earthquakes, who scored through Ramiro Corrales and Chris Wondolowski.

Conor Casey gave Colorado Rapids the lead against Sporting Kansas City but Ryan Smith netted late on to ensure the match ended 1-1.

Real Salt Lake lost 2-1 at home to Seattle Sounders after having Jamilson Olave sent off just before the hour.

Patrick Ianni and Lamar Neagle put Seattle 2-0 ahead before Nelson Gonzalez scored a late consolation.
