Frederic Antonetti extended his contract as coach of high-flying Ligue 1 side Rennes for two more years, the club's website confirmed.
The 49-year-old's present contract runs out at the end of June and the new deal sees him through to 2013 with the side, who are battling for the title and are currently in fourth place, seven points adrift of leaders Lille.
"I have been certain for a long time he would sign," said the club's general manager Pierre Dreossi. "We had an agreement between ourselves. On Monday we went to see the president and major shareholder. This is the official confirmation."
Antonetti - who has yet to win a trophy in 17 years as a coach, which has included two stints at Corsican-based side Bastia and a brief soujourn with Japanese outfit Gamba Osaka - has been at Rennes since 2009.
