Clausura leaders Unam Pumas suffered a surprise 3-1 defeat to Jaguares, who climbed off the foot of the table after their home success.
Jaguares sped into a 3-0 lead, with Antonio Salazar scoring after 23 and 25 minutes and Edgar Andrade adding a third goal in the 33rd minute.
Fernando Espinosa netted a 75th-minute consolation as Pumas suffered their first defeat of the Clausura campaign, after going 11 games unbeaten.
Pachuca fell to the bottom of the table, a point behind Jaguares and Necaxa.
Tigres Monterrey closed to two points behind Pumas with a 2-0 home victory over Atlante, their goals coming in the second half from Jesus Molina and Francisco Acuna, after the visitors had Alex Diego sent off.
Cruz Azul, fourth in the table, were crushed 3-0 on their travels by Santos Laguna.
Carlos Quintero opened the scoring in the first minute, Jorge Estrada adding a second goal on the half-hour mark and Juan Rodriguez scoring a 73rd-minute penalty.
Santos Laguna had Quintero dismissed two minutes before their third goal.
Queretaro produce comeback
Carlos Bueno scored a late winner as Queretaro beat San Luis 3-2.
San Luis had led 2-0 early on with goals from Osmar Mares and Juan Cuevas, but Emilio Lopez netted in the 28th minute to begin the fightback and Bueno levelled five minutes later before snatching all the points with the game's fifth goal three minutes from the end.
Atlas drew 1-1 with Tecos, hitting back through Carlos Costly's 39th-minute equaliser after a 27th-minute opener from Mauro Cejas.
