Olympiacos ease to victory

Olympiacos strengthened their grip on the Super League tonight with an easy win over Ergotelis as second place Panathinaikos were defeated by relegation-threatened Larissa. Second-half goals from Francois Modesto, Marko Pantelic and Kevin Mirallas eased Olympiacos to victory, and there was more good news when the score came through from Larissa.

Fabrice Pancrate and Joel Tshibamba scored six minutes apart midway through the first half and Pana failed to find a response to Larissa. The results leaves Olympiacos 13 points clear at the top and surely destined for the title.

AEK Athens are a further 11 points behind Pana, but did not look it when they defeated PAOK Salonika 4-0. Papa Bouba Diop opened the scoring in the 11th minute, and Ignacio Scocco completed a brace with strikes either side of half-time. Veteran defender Traianos Dellas completed the rout 11 minutes from time.

Djamel Abdoun's 60th minute goal was enough for fourth-placed Kavala to beat Asteras Tripoli. Panionios came from behind to win 2-1 at Atromitis. The hosts led through Stelios Sfakianakis' 52nd minute goal, but Fanouris Goundoulakis levelled 11 minutes later before Kostas Mitroglou hit the winner moments later.
