Javier Hernandez and Edgar Pacheco scored second-half goals to give Mexico a 2-0 victory over Bosnia-Herzegovina in an international football friendly on Wednesday.

A crowd of more than 40,000 people at the Georgia Dome watched a goalless first half but saw Hernandez strike in the 48th minute and Pacheco follow seven minutes later to give Mexico the victory.

The win ensured a triumphant launch to the career of Jose Manuel de la Torre, 44, as coach of the Mexican national squad. De la Torre replaced Javier Aguirre who gave up the post after guiding Mexico into the Round of 16 before they were ousted by Argentina at the 2010 FIFA World Cup™.

El Tri have booked two more friendlies on USA soil, the next on 26 March at Oakland against Paraguay and the second against Venezuela on 29 May at San Diego.
